Observación de tortugas marinas Are you ready for a nocturnal adventure? El Salvador has the privilege of being one of the world's most important nesting sites for 4 of the world's 7 sea turtle species, all of which are endangered. In Barra de Santiago, between the months of July and September, the female sea turtles wait until dark and then slowly emerge from the black ocean to dig nests on the beach and lay their eggs.

On this tour, you will be privy to the whole process, and also may have the opportunity to learn about and participate in conservation monitoring efforts that are carried out by the beach community--an absolutely remarkable experience to share with your friends and family! Learn about how to protect the turtles, their role in the ecosystems, and how to promote turtle conservation.
